Sewing for S/V Sweet Escape

I don’t buy things unless it’s a deal or something I can’t live without. That being said, for the past year I’ve been shopping for custom yacht bedding and it’s not cheap nor ever on sale. Yacht bedding for our v-berth sales for about $500. Anyway, I finally decided to pull out my sewing machine and make my own custom fitted bedding. I cut up a quilt I had and added navy piping for a more tailored look. The project cost me less than $15. I’m pretty happy with the way it turned out and I no longer have to fight to make a regular sized quilt fit our v-berth.

I agree on looking for deals or making something myself if I can, especially when there are no reasonable prices out there. I was scanning the internet looking for ideas for a comforter/bed spread and can’t find anything that shows an actual v shaped v-berth bed. What do they do, tuck in the big corners?? Its hard enough trying to get the sheets on! I wasn’t sure I wanted to cut up the little comforter I got for our sailboat. I LOVE your idea of the clean fitted look!! Thanks for posting!!
